Rachel is a Lead Scientist at CoSyne and is responsible for overseeing the cell biology and biochemistry projects undertaken by the wet lab team. Rachel holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge and has over 20 years' experience in academia and industry as a cell biologist and biochemist. Prior to CoSyne, Rachel worked at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research where she studied the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disease. She then spent a year in industry developing functional genomic screens in cancer cell lines. Rachel is driven by the belief that understanding the basic biology underlying disease is critical for the development of effective therapeutics.
